Glen Soctia Victoriana

Glen Scotia is one of just three distilleries still standing in Campbeltown, and Victoriana is their nod to the region's Victorian heyday, when Campbeltown was the whisky capital of the world. It's a no age statement release, matured in ex-bourbon casks before being split and finished in a mix of heavily charred bourbon barrels and ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The two are married back together before bottling. Non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength, so it hits hard and holds nothing back.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Salted caramel, charred oak, ripe apricot and orange peel. A touch of smoke sits underneath, classic Campbeltown funk.

Palate: Rich and full bodied. Vanilla and crème brûlée up front, then spice kicks in. Think cinnamon, pepper and a little dark chocolate. Dried fruit and toffee apple round it out.

Finish: Long and dry, with charred wood, a whisper of sea salt and lingering spice.

Think of it as Campbeltown's answer to a bourbon lover's dram. Big, sweet, smoky and built for sipping neat.
