Whisky of the Week: Signatory Vintage Speyside (M) 15 Year Old, Small Batch #18 Macallan without the Macallan label. Fifteen years in first-fill Oloroso sherry, bottled at 48.2%, non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, so you get the full, oily richness that official 40% releases can't match. Dried cranberries, gingerbread and marmalade on the nose. Dark chocolate, hazelnuts and Christmas cake spice on the palate. A long finish of cinnamon and blackberry jam. If you've ever wondered why Macallan earned its reputation, this is the most honest way to find out
