Nikka Frontier

Nikka Frontier is Nikka’s first new whisky brand in four years, following the release of Nikka Session. Its core component is a heavily peated Yoichi malt, making up at least 51% of the blend. As for the remaining 49%, it’s likely a mix of Ben Nevis and Nikka’s grain whisky. While the exact breakdown remains undisclosed, the quality at this price point speaks for itself.

• Nose: Floral notes with a hint of malt-driven funk, reminiscent of classic Yoichi character.
• Palate: Buttery and thick, with a rich nuttiness complemented by hints of stone fruit and raisins. While it carries the fiery intensity of a younger whisky, the craftsmanship is evident.
• Finish: Bold and lingering, with a spicy kick of pepper, cinnamon, and cloves that stays with you long after each sip. One of the longest finishes I’ve experienced recently.
