Founded in 1878 by James Steward & Co., Glen Rothes was ravaged by fire in 1897 and then by an explosion in 1903. Between 1963 and 1989, the number of stills at the distillery gradually increased from four to ten. The oloroso sherry butt used for this version’s maturation has bestowed it with incredibly diverse and undeniably original flavours and aromas characterised both by their complexity and classicism. The harmonious combination of gentian root and tropical fruit is the perfect example.
