Lark Devil’s Storm No. 183 is a powerful, layered Tasmanian single malt from Lark Distillery’s luxury portfolio. Built on bold Tasmanian character, this expression incorporates delicate Tasmanian peat smoke and is matured primarily in first‑fill vintage Port and Sherry casks from Seppeltsfield, some sourced from exceptionally old fortified stocks. The whisky is then finished in American oak and Lark’s seasoned casks, with applewood‑smoked water contributing a subtle savoury undertone. Bottled at 42% ABV, Devil’s Storm is rich, complex, and expressive, balancing sweetness, umami, and gentle smoke in a distinctly Lark style. 

Tasting Notes

Nose
Stewed plums drizzled with wildflower honey lead the aroma, followed by scorched orange peel and roasted pecans dusted with delicate cacao. Fragrant oak and a hint of smoke sit softly beneath the fruit. 

Palate
Full and indulgent, showing dark chocolate layered over sun‑drenched blackberries, caramel fondant, and rich baked fruit. Perfectly charred peaches and smooth almond fudge emerge, accented by refined peat smoke that adds depth without dominance. 

Finish
Long, warming, and deeply satisfying, with old oak, burnt maple syrup, sticky toffee pudding, and toasted sesame brittle lingering alongside soft smoke and dark sweetness.
