Mackmyra Vintersol is a limited seasonal release celebrating the intensity and warmth of Scandinavian winter. Crafted from Swedish barley and matured in a distinctive combination of casks—including ex‑bourbon, oloroso sherry, and Swedish oak—this expression is finished in casks seasoned with sun‑dried cherries, a traditional Nordic preservation method. The result is a rich, spicy, and fruit‑driven single malt that reflects Mackmyra’s innovative approach and strong sense of place.

Tasting Notes

Nose
Aromatic and warming, with notes of dried cherries, raisins, and baked orchard fruit. Sweet vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, and toasted oak follow, layered with hints of caramel and dark chocolate.

Palate
Full‑flavoured and expressive. Juicy red fruit and stewed cherries lead, balanced by toffee sweetness, malt richness, and warming winter spices. Subtle oak tannin and gentle nuttiness add structure and depth.

Finish
Long and warming, with lingering dried fruit, soft spice, and a gently drying oak edge that fades elegantly.
